According to Caldwell Banker Preferred’s CEO Harry Caparo, it all has to do with a desire for carefree living. "Young professionals just want to put the key in the door and go to bed at night and lock it up again in the morning." Caparo told CNNMoney.com in a recent interview
Another driving factor for moving back downtown is the driving factor. As the suburbs grew and got more crowded city governments simply were not able to keep up with the needed road construction and congestion became worse and worse. It is a part of living outside the city that we have all taken for granted. But many who are repopulating Uptown Charlotte are avoiding the aggravation and higher gas prices all together. Imagine the enjoyment of taking a short walk, or trolley ride to work.
